Educational Farm Tours and Visit with the Animals

Have you ever walked a sheep on a leash? At Pickle Meadows, you can take Moonpie, our sheep, on a stroll through the meadow. Come spend some time with our animals and reconnect with nature. All of the goats and sheep were bottle fed and enjoy interactions with humans. Petunia, our potbellied pig, was hand raised and loves children and belly rubs. We even have a few farm dogs and a cat that loves attention!

Party at Pickle Meadows Farm

Our party package includes:

“Goats on the Go” Mobile Petting Zoo

We will load up our GOAAT TOTE and bring our animals to you! With the use of portable fencing, we will set up a secure fence in your space and you can enjoy the farm. We share stories about the animals and provide educational information about each animal species.  All the animals can be petted, groomed, fed, and held. Some may even let you walk them on a leash!  

Animals may include our small goats (Phoebe, Dumplin’, Peanut, & Cashew). Our loveable gentle giant goat, Baby, and our amazing sheep, Moonpie. 

Personal or Business Rate:  $200/ hour

Non-Profit Rate:  $150/ hour  

*Current travel area is Greater Charlottesville & South Greene County. Additional rates apply for distances over a 30 min drive and Set Up & Clean Up time.

Academic Tutoring with Animal Assisted Interventions

Using school data, assessments, and  teacher & parent input, an individualized academic plan will be developed to meet current learning and/or behavioral needs. With a combination of direct instruction and integrating animal assisted educational activities, students will develop self-confidence, social skills, self-regulation skills, while gaining academic skills.

In-Home Tutor Rate:  $85/ hour
Farm Tutor Rate: $75/ hour
 

Animal Assisted Activities for Communication

Providing Animal assisted activities designed to elicit communication skills for individuals and/or families. For children with communication disorders, activities will focus on language development and opportunities to create a human-animal connection .
**Services can be provided in conjunction with other service providers like SLP, OT, or PT.

Individual Rate: $75/ hour
Family Rate: $85/ hour  

**Price negotiable when collaborating with additional service provider. 

Tailored One-on-One Mentoring

Building Trust, Confidence, and Life Skills on the Farm and in the Community

Our individualized mentoring service is designed for youth who need a patient, gentle approach to building trust and feeling safe with adults. By stepping outside of traditional settings, we create a supportive partnership that meets youth exactly where they are each day.

Our services focus on two main areas:

  • Animal-Assisted Farm Activities: The farm provides a calm, low-pressure environment where youth can connect with animals. Working side-by-side with their mentor on hands-on chores helps reduce stress, regulates sensory needs, and naturally builds a strong foundation of trust.

  • Guided Community Outings: Once a safe, comfortable baseline is established, we practice those relational skills in the real world. Through short, purposeful trips with clear plans and built-in breaks, we help youth navigate the community with confidence.

By dynamically matching our daily activities to your child’s energy and comfort levels, we provide a steady, reliable anchor that helps them learn new life skills, build confidence, and feel truly connected.

Rate:  $85/ hour plus associated fees for community activities
